Lubricate the cross bolt, on the spindle clamp. Check every 50 hours if the bolt threads are dry
Check the clamping bolt thread is lightly lubricated. This enables the bolt to be accurately torqued:
Step 1: Remove the clamping bolt using the supplied T driver.
Step 2: If the bolt threads are dry, apply a thin film of lithium based grease (the same grade applied to the Z axis lead screws). Only apply grease to the end half of the bolt threads (shown as red box). This ensures that the spring washer remains dry, allowing it to lock when tightened.
Step 3: Reassemble, ensuring that the spring washer is in place under the bolt head.
Step 1: Load the spindle, and then use the supplied T driver to tighten the cross bolt. The large handle ensures accurate control.
Step 2: Tighten until you feel the spindle motor can no longer rotate freely in the clamp.
Step 3: Then, apply EITHER:
MAXIMUM 1/8th turn, OR
MAXIMUM 45° turn
NEVER over-tighten. Over-tightening will damage the main bearings inside the spindle, reducing spindle life.
