If you are using an SC0 spindle it is especially important that you pay attention to the status lights on the spindle, as these will tell you if the spindle is overloaded.
If the spindle is under high overload you will need to manually pause the job.
The speed control wheel contains the status light for spindle overload.
A: Speed control wheel
The status light will flash a sequence of pulses if the spindle starts to become overloaded; the following table shows what the colour of the light and number of pulses indicates.
Note that the pulses correspond to the maximum time left until the spindle shuts down.
Colour and behaviour
Description
Solid BLUE
Spindle motor is OK and experiencing no overload.
One RED pulse
Spindle motor is experiencing a small overload and the spindle motor will shut down within 160 seconds if the overload continues.
Two RED pulses
