YetiPilot minimum requirements and limitations

.

< Previous | List | Next >

Minimum requirements

Hardware, SmartBench version:

  • SmartBench PrecisionPro+, or

  • SmartBench PrecisionPro v1.3 with a Pro+ upgrade kit

Hardware, Spindle version:

  • SC2 (not SC1 or SC0)

Software:

  • Console software version v2.3.0 (latest release at the time of writing is v2.4.0 which includes more profiles and updated algorithms)

Limitations

  • As clever as YetiPilot is at optimising feed-rates, it can not account for tool deflection. Therefore, in applications where finished part accuracy is a priority, job files should include a finishing pass as per best practice. This is a simple step at the job file creation phase.

  • YetiPilot has been designed to optimise and protect profile and pocket cuts, which covers most CNC routing operations. But for 3D sculpting cuts (e.g. a 3D emblem) which have many rapid changes in Z position and drilling toolpaths YetiPilot cannot optimise.

  • At the time of writing, YetiPilot has only been tested for cutters at 3 mm diameter and above.
