What to do if your Console tells you it needs to do a repair

Your Console may tell you that it needs to repair your software if it is unable to carry out an update.

You will need to have your Console connected to a stable wifi network before you carry out any repairs. 

Click here to learn how to connect your Console to a wifi network. 

DO NOT power off your machine or turn off your internet connection while your Console is repairing itself, as this may break your Console!

It is recommended that you check and record any maintenance information before repairing your software, as this may be reset due to the software being re-installed. 

If your software fails to update, it may show you an error message that asks if you want to repair your software now.


It is very important that your power supply is reliable, and that your wifi connection is stable as it will download a completely fresh software package to replace the broken one. 

Older software versions may report that the software needs to be repaired BECAUSE a poor internet connection is preventing an update.

It is a good idea to check the quality of your connection with another device. 

If you do not have a stable internet connection and power supply

If you are ready to repair your software

Press the button that says “Repair”.

DO NOT power off your machine or turn off your internet connection while your Console is repairing itself, as this may break your Console!
