The thickness of the Z probe plate dictates the offset value that the software uses to calculate where the Z datum is. This is measured and set by us for each machine. However, if a high level of accuracy in the Z axis is required it is worth checking periodically that the measured value is consistent with the stored value in the software. You will also have to measure and reset the value if you have to replace your original probe or console (the value is stored in the console).
We recommend using a micrometer to measure the thickness of the Z probe Plate for the most accurate measurements.
From the Lobby screen on the Console enter the “Maintenance” app.
When in the maintenance app, open the furthest right tab at the top of the screen.
Enter the value that you measured into the “Touchplate Offset” box.
Press save and you can now exit the app.
