Z Motor Swap 1.2A or earlier

This article is how to swap out the Z Motor Swap 1.2A or earlier.

Step 1: Remove extraction elbow

Step 2: Remove spindle power socket

Step 3: Remove top plate

Step 4: Remove Z Motor belt - may have one or two lead screws but process is the same

Be sure to screw the Z-Motor in at the same location as it was removed from. Too loose and you risk the belt falling off or jumping

Step 5: Unscrew lower stepper brick from both sides

Step 6: Unscrew upper stepper brick from both sides

Step 7: Remove backing plates

Plastic can be fragile remove screw without excess force - If you need to unplug limit switches or any cables to access in the PCB case note which ones connect where so you can reinstall correctly

Step 8: Replace Z-Motor

Steps to reinstall are the same in reverse, cable ties are there for strain relief - can easily be reinstated if you bend the cable tie at a right angle before reinstating
