A CAD/CAM package is needed to design the sign. This package will then export the toolpaths for SmartBench.
In this tutorial we will design our part in Vectric VCarve Pro.
You are welcome to use other CAD/CAM packages to generate the files for cutting plywood. Click here to learn more about other CAD/CAM packages which are compatible with SmartBench.
This pathway will go through the Vectric (CAD/CAM) tutorial and show you how to create the sign files yourself. The tutorial will then lead back into using SmartBench to complete the manufacture.

If you don’t want to go through the Vectric(CAD/CAM) tutorial, you can simply click on the links below to download the files:
Vectric project file for the sign (this file is NOT for export to SmartBench. It is to be opened in Vectric. It can then be used to edit the project and generate job files).
Job file for text engraving using 6.35mm 90° v-groove engraving cutter (this is the file which was exported and sent to SmartBench).
Job file for mounting holes and contour using 6mm flat end cutter (this is the file which was exported and sent to SmartBench).
Then, click here to skip the Vectric (CAD/CAM) tutorial, and go straight to the File Transfer part of the tutorial.
